Our tool management software, the Tool Crib Assistant,

is offered in several editions.


Use the included features of barcode scanning and label printing or not, it's your choice.  

 

The PRO I edition is designed for use with multiple cribs or stores where your items are stocked, checked out and checked in.

 

Consider the PRO I edition when..

 

  • You have, or plan to have, multiple cribs or stores where items are stocked
  • You need to manage both what job/customer and to what person your items have been checked out
  • You want to manage durable tools, consumables or both
  • You wish to be alerted when an item's quantity reaches a reorder point
  • You want a complete order management capability

The STANDARD edition is our original tool crib manager. It's used in settings where the quantity of each item in inventory is managed. With the Standard Edition, you'll know which tool users have your tools, what's still available for use and who hasn't returned the tool you want to find.

Consider the STANDARD edition when...

 

  • You want to manage both durable tools and consumables
  • You want to be alerted when an item may be due for reorder
  • Use of a list of tools for issue and return might be helpful

The CONTRACTOR edition offers all the capabilities of the Standard edition mentioned above but handles consumable items differently.

Consider the CONTRACTOR edition when...

 

  • You want to manage both durable tools and consumables
  • You typically issue several items to a tool user at one time and won't know how many of the consumable items, if any, will be returned
  • You want to be alerted when a tool may be due for reorder
  • Use of a list of tools for issue and return might be helpful

The Basic edition is used in settings where each item in inventory is managed. Each tool is either available, in use, or out of service. With the Basic Edition you'll know where each tool is, and you'll know all the tools in use by a particular tool user.      Barcode scanning is NOT included with the Basic edition.

Consider the BASIC Edition when...

 

  • You're concerned only with tracking each durable tool in your inventory
  • You don't need reorder alerts and order/receipt tracking

  • Include the ability to print or create pdf documents
  • Are network-ready   - you may choose to install or move the system database tables to a server
  • Include concurrency checking and transaction processing to maintain the database integrity in a multi-user environment
